Cool Blue Hues - Sukay Project
Hey everyone!
It’s that time of year when so many want to make changes in our homes. We are preparing for summer parties, family events and want to just get our house in order. Today, I would like to highlight a project that was completed back in 2020 right as the COVID-19 pandemic was underway.
My client purchased her newly constructed townhome in November 2019 and wanted a professional to come in and really make it a home. I remember her saying that she had several "random pieces from college in her old home and wanted this space to be different...to look like an adult lived here." The consult was scheduled, I did a walk through of the spaces she needed assistance with, and we discussed her needs based off her color scheme, design style and how she wanted those areas to function.
My client loves the color blue, and I wanted to be sure to create a space that she felt would truly be a reflection of her personality and characteristics. In the primary bedroom, I originally chose a headboard from a vendor but learned it was out of stock with my vendor, so I contacted my local workroom to have a custom headboard, similar in style, created. The great thing about creating a custom piece is that I was able to accommodate any height preference. The open concept living and dining space needed to be cohesive, but not “matchy-matchy” so I decided to bring in the unusual color pairing of pink with the cool blue tones.
After sourcing the items, creating the design boards, and obtaining approval from my client, it was finally time to order. Once all of the items were delivered, we scheduled the installation date and styled her space. I could tell she really loved the new look, and I did too. It’s still one of my favorite projects to date. You can check out before and after pictures are below....
